Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Ruminski Labs OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia, Sepapaja tn 6, 15551 Tallinn, Estonia ("Ruminski Labs", "we", "us", or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the Orbis mobile application and any related content, features, and services (together, the "App").

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1Who We Are

The App is operated by Ruminski Labs OÜ, Sepapaja tn 6, 15551 Tallinn, Estonia. You can reach us at support@learnorbis.com.

2Eligibility and Age

You must be at least 16 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live (usually 18), you may only use the App with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and who is responsible for any purchases you make. By using the App you represent that you meet these requirements.

3Your Account

Some features require an account. You can sign in with Google, Apple, or email. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account. The information we handle when you create an account is described in our Privacy Policy. You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your cloud profile and any cloud backup as described in the Privacy Policy.

4Licence to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial, educational use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.

5Subscriptions, Free Trials, and Billing

Parts of the App are offered through a paid subscription ("Orbis Premium").

• Plans and trial. We offer monthly and yearly subscriptions. New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription and you will be charged.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Payment and management. Purchases are processed and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and your subscription is managed through our subscription provider, RevenueCat. Payment is charged to your store account. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
• Prices. Current prices and trial terms are shown in the App before you purchase and may vary by country and over time. We may change prices for future billing periods; where required, we will give you notice and the chance to cancel.
• Refunds. Payments are handled by Apple or Google, so refunds are subject to their policies. If you are an EU/EEA consumer, you have a statutory right of withdrawal for digital purchases; by choosing to start using paid digital content during the withdrawal period, you may agree that this right is lost once the content is supplied. Nothing here limits your mandatory statutory consumer rights.

6Educational Content — No Professional Advice

The App provides lessons and reference material on geopolitics, history, and world affairs for general educational and informational purposes only. World events are complex and change quickly. While we work hard to be accurate and balanced, we do not warrant that content is complete, current, or error-free, and it is not legal, financial, political, security, or other professional advice. You rely on it at your own discretion.

7Acceptable Use

You agree not to: misuse the App or interfere with its normal operation; attempt to access it in ways we did not intend; reverse engineer, decompile, copy, scrape, or create derivative works from the App or its content except as allowed by law; resell or commercially exploit the App or its content; or use the App to break any law. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms.

8Feedback and Submissions

The App lets you send us feedback, report errors in lessons or reference material, and suggest topics for us to cover. You are responsible for what you submit and agree not to send unlawful, infringing, or confidential material, or other people's personal data. By sending a submission, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, store, and act on it — for example, to fix an error or develop new content — with no obligation to use it or to compensate you. Please do not include sensitive personal information in your messages.

9Intellectual Property

The App and its software, design, text, lessons, and graphics are owned by Ruminski Labs OÜ or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Some images and source materials are provided by third parties (for example, media hosted by Wikimedia) and remain the property of their respective owners under their own licences. The "Orbis" name and logo are ours. Except for the limited licence above, nothing here gives you any right in our intellectual property.

10Third-Party Services and Content

The App relies on third-party services (including Google Firebase, RevenueCat, and the Apple App Store and Google Play) and may display content hosted by third parties. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for third-party content or services.

11Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.

12Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ruminski Labs OÜ will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or 50 euros. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.

13Changes to the App and these Terms

We may update, change, or discontinue features of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you in the App. Changes take effect when posted, or on any later date we specify. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the App. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (for example, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

15Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Estonia have jurisdiction over disputes. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, and you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. Where your country offers an alternative dispute resolution or consumer-ombudsman scheme, you may be able to use it.

16General

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce a right or provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer or assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.

17Apple and Google Store Terms

You also agree to the applicable App Store and Google Play terms. The following applies where you obtained the App from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and Ruminski Labs OÜ only, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Apple is not responsible for any product warranties or for addressing any claims relating to the App (including product-liability, legal/regulatory, or intellectual-property claims). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.
