About this quiz
On June 6, 1944, about 156,000 Allied soldiers landed along fifty miles of the Normandy coast and opened a western front against Nazi Germany. The quiz covers the planning, the weather, the five beaches and some of the men who went ashore.
Several questions go beyond the textbook version, and a few test stories that are often told wrong. The last two questions are the hardest.
