About this quiz

Starting around 1760, Britain became the first country to run on coal, iron and steam. Within a century it was the workshop of the world, and its factories helped it build the largest empire in history. The quiz covers the inventors, engineers, workers and critics of that change, and what it meant for the rest of the world.

Most of the questions start from something you have probably heard of and add an angle you may not know.
