About this quiz

Ireland's history stretches from the Stone Age farmers who built Newgrange to the peace process of the 1990s. In between came saints and scholars, Viking raiders, English conquest, English and Scottish settlers in Ulster, famine, emigration, rebellion, partition, and decades of conflict in Northern Ireland.

The quiz covers the whole island, north and south, and spans about five thousand years. It starts with three easier questions and ends with two harder ones.
