About this quiz
The Reformation began in 1517 as an argument about how the Church raised money. Within a generation it had split Western Christianity into Catholic and Protestant churches, set off wars across Europe and left a map of religious loyalties that still shows today.
The questions cover Martin Luther, the other reformers, the Catholic response and the settlements Europe's rulers made. Some questions check famous stories against the evidence.
