About this quiz

The Khmer Rouge ruled Cambodia for less than four years. In that time, execution, starvation and forced labor killed between 1.5 million and 2 million people, a fifth to a quarter of the population. Yale University's Cambodian Genocide Program puts the toll at about 1.7 million. The quiz covers who led the movement, what it did to Cambodia's cities and people, how it fell, and what came after.

The first questions cover events most people have heard of. The later ones turn to the people who lived through the regime and to the years after its fall.
