About this quiz
Russia had two revolutions in 1917. The first, in February, brought down the tsar. The second, in October, brought Lenin's Bolsheviks to power. In between, a provisional government tried to rule a country exhausted by World War I.
The quiz covers the people and events of that year and the civil war that followed: the fall of the monarchy, the Bolsheviks, the leaders who lost out and the world's reaction. It starts easy, and several questions test popular images of the revolution against the record.
