About this quiz
In October 1962 the United States found Soviet nuclear missiles being installed in Cuba. For thirteen days, President John F. Kennedy and the Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev maneuvered between a deal and a war that could have killed hundreds of millions of people.
The quiz runs from the failed invasion that came before the crisis to the changes that followed it. Along the way it covers how the Soviet Union moved the missiles, how the United States responded, and the moments when the crisis came close to slipping out of either leader's control.
