About this quiz
Yugoslavia joined six republics, two autonomous provinces, two alphabets and three major religions in one state. After Tito died in 1980, the economy weakened and nationalist politicians gained ground in the republics. By 1991 the country was at war. The quiz follows the breakup through its turning points and its aftermath.
Several questions come from sport, music and everyday life rather than the battlefield. The questions on the war itself stick to what courts and historians have established. The hardest ones come at the end.
