About this quiz
In 1206 the steppe tribes proclaimed a new supreme ruler, Genghis Khan. Within two generations his sons and grandsons ruled from Korea to the edge of Europe. The quiz covers the high points: the fall of the Jin capital in northern China, the destruction of Khwarezm, the campaign into Europe in 1241, the sack of Baghdad, the Yuan dynasty and the battle at Ain Jalut.
It suits readers who know Genghis Khan's name and want the story behind it. The easy questions come first. The last two, on why the Mongols invaded Khwarezm and who beat them at Ain Jalut, are the hardest.
